Welcome to KSBSRB Lifestyle Blog
We’ve been through a lot in the last year. A pandemic that shut down whole countries, and sent most people into the recluses of their homes for many months at a time. And of course the unspeakable tolls that this has taken on many families through tragedy.
During this time many families have faced stress, being cramped together far more than usual. Others might have been brought closer together, which would be a welcome side-effect of such a traumatic time.
However now we are hopefully nearing the end of this terrible period, and we can now discover what its like to get out of the house more freely. What are some ways we can do this? Well we’ve taken some time to put together this post to share some of our ideas.
Bounce Houses and the Return of the Birthday Party
One thing that saw a dramatic decline, at least in our household, was the kids birthday party. While we used to get invited to several each year (and threw 2 of our own), this completely dried up over the last year and it’s been absolutely no fun.
However now that we are nearing the end of the Pandemic, one of the first things that are going to return are the kids’ bday parties. We are starting to plan one for ourselves, which includes one of our kids (and our own) favorite features of such a party, the Bounce House!
Our little girl loves bounce castles, and when the kids aren’t looking we like to get into the house and bounce around a little bit ourselves (don’t worry, the houses are made to support our weight and we don’t do this when any little ones are inside).
Special shout out to Bounce Houses NJ which are always very helpful when we set up our parties.
I don’t know about you, but I love me some fresh, clean water. Even though I live in an area that has very clean tap water, I’m always a little turned off by unfiltered tap water. I can vaguely smell chlorine. I wonder about all those hundred year old pipes in my old house. And what about other dissolved solids?
In a pinch, its good to know I can drink tap water straight from the faucet, but I wouldn’t want to do it every day. I take a lot of comfort in the fact that I have water filtration.
There are several different types of water filter systems. Everything from a whole house water filtration system that is integrated in your plumbing system, to under the sink water filters, water filter pitchers (like the famous Brita and Pur brands), all the way down to faucet water filters, which just attach to your sinks faucet.
I’ve always been a little dubious about these small faucet water filters. They are so small, can they really filter all that water? So I decided to look into it and write up a blog post.
Short Answer: Yes, they work, to an extent.
In short, they do work, to an extent. The thing to keep in mind about these is that there is a difference between a purifier and a filter.
Purifiers work to make water biologically safe, like removing bacteria, viruses and other contaminants. While filters simply remove some dissolved solids. So don’t take river or lake water and run it through a Brita and expect it to be drinkable. Its not!
Next thing to keep in mind, even the best faucet water filters are very short in length. The amount of time the water spends in contact with the carbon filter, the better it will be filtered. So the short, few inches that the faucet water filter has will only filter the water 10-20%. This may be good enough to remove some of the nasty taste and make the water feel cleaner, but you may want to combine it with some other filters or purifiers to get a full effect.
More Effective Options
A neighbor of mine used a combination of a pitcher water filter and a faucet water filter. He would pour water through the faucet filter directly into the pitcher. That makes sense, but if you are very concerned with water quality you might want to consider a gravity fed water filter (the Berkey brand of which is actually a purifier, much much more effective than Brita). If you have municipal water concerns, you might want to consider the whole house water filtration system, which is more expensive but can give some nice peace of mind.
If you are looking to get into drop shipping, you will want to be certain that you are finding the right suppliers. The truth is, finding the right suppliers can make or break your entire business model. Because of this, you should be looking and doing your due diligence to find the right options. Below, we will be going over some of the key things that you will want to do when you are looking to choose some.
1. Classic Web Search
One of the best and easiest ways to find reputable suppliers is through Google. Believe it or not, but searching on Google should yield a lot of good results when it comes to finding the right suppliers to do business with. While you will need to do a good amount of vetting to ensure that you are picking one that you can rely on, you should be doing basic searches in order to find the various suppliers that you should make contact with.
This is a mixed bag. You should be able to get a directory full of drop shippers that you can contact, but a lot of them will charge a fee.
Some free options include Thomasnet.com, which focuses on USA based Suppliers (and some Canadian suppliers). For China or other Global suppliers the standard approach is Alibaba.com or Aliexpress.com.
However, with the fee, you are going to be able to access a large assortment of different drop shippers that you will be able to do business with. One of the difficulties in finding a drop shipper is having to go through multiple companies in order to find one that is willing to do business with you. A directory is typically going to give you hundreds if not more companies that you can call from. Keep in mind, because these companies are readily available, they likely have a lot of people calling them daily pitching them on their drop shipping business.
Believe it or not, but one of the best and easiest ways to find the most legitimate suppliers is by looking at your competition. In fact, if you make an order from your competition, you may be able to reverse lookup where their supplier is located and who they are. This alone can be a very strategic way to go about finding the right suppliers that you should be engaging with. After all, you are leveraging the due diligence your competition did in choosing their own suppliers. Best of all, you will be able to get a rough idea of how much they are paying the supplier which can give you a good baseline on profit margins.
Overall, there is a lot that you are going to want to do when you are trying to figure out which supplier(s) to go with. Finding dropshipping suppliers is much easier said than done. You should be able to find a lot by utilizing some of the tips above. You want to do your due diligence to ensure that you are not only finding the most reputable suppliers, but also ones that you will be able to get great prices with.

Sometimes interior decorating can be a little bit like writing or anything other creative endeavor, and you can suffer from writers’ block.
Not knowing what to do in a given situation can be super annoying and hurt someones confidence. However, have no fear! We can come through with a few tips that will help in any situation, and might help to spark some imagination for new ideas of your own!
Wall Art Prints
Adding some wall art is a good idea in almost any situation. Blank walls are a vibe-killer for a room.
But not sure how to arrange the canvas art? Try looking up templates for displaying the art, which will help guide you on the display of the canvas and how it might fit within the overall theme of the room.
Also good to keep in mind that there are multiple different types of prints available for you to choose from. The classic canvas prints which work great for painted pictures, landscapes and portraits, then there are metal photo prints and acrylic photo prints which work for high definition photographs, nature scenes, or even graphic/comic book art. Metal prints can also have a more modern/sleek feel, while canvas prints can have a more home/comfy feel.
Blankets and Pillows for Accoutrements
If you’ve got furniture in a room, it may be great, but it could add a couple of extra little bits of style. One way to do this is to add some blankets and pillows for added effect. They could go with the color or perhaps go with a converse style to contrast.
There are many companies now that will make custom pillows and blankets, if you have a desire to incorporate a personalized message, or even an image/photo on them. However there are also plenty of stock messages/designs that work perfectly well when trying to figure out a decor strategy, so you don’t necessarily need to resort to customizations.
Get Your Hyyge on with Lamps and Lighting
The scandinavian concept of Hyyge has gotten a lot of popularity recently, and for good reason. There is nothing like the warm and cozy feeling of “home”. If you are truly looking to exemplify “home” in “home decor”, you’ll want to follow the hygge principles.
One of the primary ways to insitute feelings of Hygge is with lighting. The main takeaway from this should be the following rule:
NO exposed lightbulbs.
The harshness of exposed lightbulbs is something that you need to avoid if you are going to maximize your comfort level. The raw lightbulb will drill light right into your eyes and give you a headache (and some people are much more sensitive to this than others, myself included).
You can do this by simply making sure most/all of your lighting is coming from table top lamps that have calm lampshades on them.
Of course you could go with the $10,000 lamp designed by the father of modern hygge lighting Poul Henningsen, but a gentle $30 bedside lamp would do the trick as well.
Another note: Hygge in Denmark is all about candles. However candles present not only an environmental/health risk (lots of carcinogens in the air), but also a fire risk (open flame indoors). For this reason we do not recommend candles in the home, no matter how cozy they may seem (there is nothing cozy about burning your house down or getting lung cancer, sorry).
If you’ve got friends or significant others that are very crafty and artsy, you might know that speaking to this interest can help you pick gifts and whatnot for them for the holidays or their birthday. They may like to get art prints for around the house, or trinkets and bits of sculpture that will spark their interest.
However perhaps a much better gift would be to enable their own creativity and craftyness. A perfect fit for this type of gift would be the amazing Cricut Machines.
What is a Cricut Machine?
If you don’t know, a Cricut Machine is a relatively inexpensive consumer die cutting machine. Unlike industrial die cutting machines which will carve out “dies” from steel, metal, plastic and other strong materials, the consumer version of die cutting machines work to carve out shapes from paper, vinyl, thin wood, rubber, and other materials.
What Can You do with a Cricut?
This allows you to do lots of cool things. There are ways to use the cricut for mason jars, for leather, for wood, for stickers, for t shirts and labels. It is really only limited by the users imagination.
If you are a parent it’s a great way to connect with your kids. You can make lots of cool stuff leveraging graphics from your kids favorite cartoons or characters. You can add these to your kids bookbags, t-shirts, shoes, you name it!
If you are a very expressive person you can use it creative your own greeting cards for the holidays, or to fill up your “flare” with custom patches and pins.
It’s a common problem nowadays that people end up spending their cash on things that are unnecessary. If you are going to buy a new product, you will need to understand that there are instances when it isn’t exactly necessary.
When should be buying a new gadget? First, you need to assess your need for such gadgets. There are instances when companies spend so much on marketing that they can convince consumers to pay for things that they don’t need. This shouldn’t be the case if you really want to get the best bang for your buck.
If you really need to buy a new gadget, you will have to take the time to do your research. The more time that you are going to spend on doing research, the easier it is to end up with a decision whether or not to buy the product. As a consumer, you also want to compare the item with similar products. In a lot of situations, the most expensive products are not really the best ones out there. You might want to check the alternatives first. You also want to learn from the actual experiences of people who really tried out the items. This way, you have a concrete idea of whether you should be buying the gadget or not.
A lot of people love to explore new locations and see different cultures. In reality, there is really nothing bad when it comes to traveling and seeing new places. However, the most challenging part of traveling is that it costs a lot of money. Now, how do people manage to travel even if they don’t have a full-time job? Or better yet, how do they travel with limited funds?
The good thing about traveling is that you don’t need to spend a lot of money. Yes, it does cost some money but you don’t have to spend so much. What you can do is to know your options. First, when it comes to choosing your flight, you want to fly the cheapest way possible. You can stick to budget airlines. In addition to this, you want to stay in places with a low cost of living. This is the reason why travelers go to Thailand and the Philippines instead. The reason is simple. It is cheaper in these places than going to first world countries.
Next, you also want to live as if you are a local. Don’t be a tourist. You can stick to cheap foods to choose locations far from tourist attractions.
